Our special guest was the coach of the Roberts Wesleyan University men’s soccer team, Scott Reber, who spoke live from the NCCAA Championships in Kissimmee, Florida where the RedHawks are competing. Coach spoke on this season for Roberts, the players who made the East Coast Conference All-Star Team and The Christian Service Project that all the teams in the tournament contributed to on Monday to benefit Living Hope International.
Front Row Soccer's Michael Lewis, the author of "Alive and Kicking, the Incredible but True Story of the Rochester Lancers" and "Still Alive and Kicking - The Story of the 21st Century Rochester Lancers" (go to rochesterlancersbook.com), reviewed the NY Red Bulls Cinderella run to the MLS Cup Final on Saturday where they will face host LA Galaxy. Andrew and Michael went over the stats and factors that will help decide this year's MLS Champions and discussed the keys to the match.
Joe and Andrew gave the international report and the latest update on Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove, who collapsed during Sunday's Serie A match against Inter, plus the 3rd round matchups in the English FA Cup.women's soccer tournament.

This podcast version of Soccer is a Kick in the Grass features interviews conducted at the State University of New York at Brockport Men's Soccer reunion held on September 21, 2024. The event celebrated the 50th anniversary of the 1974 NCAA Division 3 National Champion Golden Eagles and the undefeated 1968 team that was inducted into the Brockport State Sports Hall of Fame that weekend.
Featured are interviews with former NASL Rochester Lancers Kevin Gannon, Jim May and Nelson Cupello, former American Soccer League star and a member of the University of San Francisco Sports Hall of Fame for his contribution to the 1975 and 1976 NCAA D1 champion Dons, Mal Roach, and 2 members of the 1968 undefeated team, Dave Scheer and Dan Hickey.
