We had a special show that commemorated the 40th anniversary of the famous NASL semi-final match between the Rochester Lancers and the Cosmos, who had Pele, Franz Beckenbauer, Carlos Alberto, Giorgio Chinaglia and Shep Messing.  The match at Holleder Stadium drew over 20,000 fans, still the largest attended team sporting event in Rochester history.

With Andrew on vacation, Rochester Rhinos Wall of Famer Nelson Cupello, a member of the 1977 Lancers, joined Joe Sirianni to reminisce about the season and welcomed former Lancers owner Charlie Schiano, the voice of the Lancers, Wayne Fuller, the captain of the 1977 Lancers, Jim Pollihan, one of the greatest goalkeeper in NASL history, Jack Brand, the son of former Lancers owner the late Pat DiNolfo, the Honorable Vince DiNolfo, NASL All Star Francisco Escos, Lancers defenders Don Droege and Webster native Craig Reynolds and the man who wrote about the match in the Rochester Deomcrat and Chronicle, Michael Lewis.

  • Rochester Rhinos head coach Bob Lilley who discussed the loan of Julian Buescher from DC United to the Rhinos, the potential for another transfer to take place in the near future, Saturday's match against the Charleston Battery and the expansion of the USL next season, both in number of teams and matches played (34).

Joe, Andrew and Dick Howard previewed the new Serie A and Bundesliga seasons, talked about the first weekend of matches in the Premiership and the 5 match suspension of Cristiano Ronaldo.  Michael Lewis previewed the US Open Cup semi-final between FC Cincinnati and the NY Red Bulls and former Rhino GK Tim Melia leading Sporting Kansas City to the US Open Cup Final.  Throughout the show, we all talked about the joint bid of the US, Canada and Mexico for the 2026 World Cup and if Morocco's rival bid has any chance.  Click on the soccer ball to listen to the podcast!

Dick Howard talked about the Gold Cup, the transfer market's latest moves, the International Champions Cup drawing huge crowds and MLS turning down a $4 billion offer for media rights starting in 2023 that were dependent on MLS adopting promotion and relegation.  Michael Lewis was live from California and gave his on-sight report on Jamaica's upset of Mexico in the Gold Cup semi-finals, reviewed the US win over Costa Rica in the other Gold Cup semi-final and previewed Wednesday's final between the Reggae Boyz and the USA.  Click on the soccer ball to listen to the podcast!

Dick Howard talked about the Gold Cup, the retirement of Francesco Totti, the transfer market's latest moves, the International Champions Cup and the UEFA Women's tournament.  Michael Lewis reviewed the US Men's Gold Cup group stage results, previewed the knockout stage match against El Salvardor on Wednesday and gave his predictions on the big NYCFC matches this week hosting Toronto FC and Chicago.   • Rochester Lancers Wall of Fame Class of 2017 inductee Jim Pollihan, who spoke on his playing all 5 seasons of his outdoor soccer career in Rochester, the 1977 NASL semi-final against the Cosmos at Holleder Stadium, road trips with the other American Lancers players and what it meant to be captain of the team.
  • Rochester Rhinos Man of the Match from Saturday's 1-0 win over Harrisburg, Jochen Graf, who discussed the victory and his scoring the only goal of the match, playing against former Rhinos players in the USL and the Rochester Summer Camp open house coming up on Tuesday.  

Dick Howard talked about the Gold Cup, the moves of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United and Wayne Rooney to Everton and the start of the UEFA Women's tournament this weekend.  Michael Lewis reviewed the US Men's 1-1 draw with Ghana in the Gold Cup, previewed the match on Wednesday against Martinique and gave some thoughts on the memorial service of former US Women's National team coach Tony DiCicco.  Click on the soccer ball to listen to the podcast!

  • Rochester Lancers Wall of Fame Class of 2017 inductee Frank Caricchio, who spoke on his soccer career as a player at Charlotte High School, the captain of the 1963 Italian-American Sport Club National Champions and the 1967-69 Lancers, along with his coaching days at Greece Athena and Bishop Kearney. 

    Frank, Manfred Seissler, Jim Pollihan and the late Bruno Sniders will be inducted into the Rochester Lancers Wall of Fame on Saturday, July 15 at halftime of the Lancers match against Erie at Aquinas High School that starts at 4 pm.

Dick Howard talked about the Confederations Cup final, Toronto FC winning the Canadian Championship, Christine Sinclair being awarded the Order of Canada this past weekend and Canada Men's team kicking off the Gold Gup this weekend against French Guyana.  Michael Lewis reviewed the US Men's 2-1 win over Ghana and their first match in the Gold Cup on Saturday against Panama.  Click on the soccer ball to listen to the podcast!

  • Lancer captain, long time MISL and NPSL indoor player and coach former US International defender, Jim Pollihan
  • The man who covered the Lancers longer than anyone else in the Rochester newspapers, the late Bruno Sniders

Dick Howard talked about the Confederations Cup, the transfer window and the Canadian Championship between Toronto FC and Montreal. 

Finally, Dick, Michael Joe and Andrew remembered the late coach of the US Women's National Team, Tony DiCicco, who passed away last week.
