  • The winner of the 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Honor Award, NSCAA and Section 5 Hall of Famer, former coach of Spencerport High School and Brockport State, Ron Broadbent!  Ron talked about winning the award, how playing soccer in the 1950’s is different than playing today, the rules of high school soccer that allow unlimited substitutions and what he sees as the main need for US Soccer as a playing nation. 

Dick Howard gave his thoughts on the African Cup of Nations, the Premiership and Serie A and Michael Lewis discussed the move of the Cosmos to the home of the baseball Brooklyn Cyclones on Coney Island.  We also paid tribute to the late Evelyn Dinolfo, the wife of former Rochester Lancers owner Pat Dinolfo.  Click on the soccer ball to listen to the podcast!

  • The new owner of the former Western New York Flash (now the North Carolina Courage) and the NASL's North Carolina FC, Steve Malik.  Steve discussed the timeline and reasons for the sale of the Flash to his club, the status of coaches Paul Riley and Scott Vallow and the players, the plans for the NWSL draft this week and his working with the Sahlen's to make the sale of the team happen smoothly.
  • Rochester Rhinos head coach Bob Lilley, who was in Los Angeles for the USL combines and meetings.  Bob talked about the USL going to Division 2 for 2017, the expanded league schedule, the new teams in the Eastern Conference and the players he is scouting, especially for the attack with the loss of Steevan Dos Santos and Christian Volesky.

Michael Lewis was on live from Los Angeles and discussed the unexpected death of former 1970's Cosmos star and Paraguayan international Roberto Cabanas, the new ownership of the Cosmos and the saving of the NASL for 2017 and the schedule of events that are happening in LA this week, including the NWSL and MLS drafts and the US Men's and Women's training camps.  Dick Howard talked about the FIFA Awards ceremony and the real possibility that the World Cup could expand to 48 teams in 2026.  Click on the soccer ball to listen to the podcast!

Dick Howard talked about the 40-year reunion and celebration of the 1976 Toronto Metros-Croatia NASL Champions this past weekend and the upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifying matches in CONCACAF, COMBEBOL and UEFA.  Michael Lewis previewed the US Men's National Team World Cup qualifier against St. Vincent & the Grenadines on Friday afternoon and gave his thoughts on the controversies surrounding Hope Solo and Carli Lloyd. Dick Howard gave his final thoughts on the Olympic soccer tournament, previewed the big Hull City/Manchester United English Premier match on Saturday and remembered the life of the former FIFA President Joao Havelange, who died last week at age 100.  Michael Lewis looked back on NYCFC's 1-0 win over LA Galaxy and the NY Red Bulls 2-2 road draw with DC United and reminisced on the 39th anniversary of the Rochester Lancers NASL semi-final match against the Cosmos in front of a record crowd of 20,005 at Holleder Stadium.
