Dick Howard talked about the Classico with Barcelona winning 3-2 at Real Madrid, Juventus in control of Serie A, the UEFA Champions League semi-final draw, the FA Cup semi-finals and the week’s upcoming league matches.  Michael Lewis gave his onsite reports on the Cosmos 1-1 draw against Jacksonville on Coney Island and NYCFC losing at Yankee Stadium to Orlando City 2-1.   

Joe and Andrew gave their thoughts on opinions on Jeff DiVeronica’s article in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle about 10 ways to revive the Rochester Rhinos and what they would do to improve attendance and the bottom line.

Dick Howard and Michael Lewis gave their opinions on the World Cup in 2026 having 48 teams and how those team will break out by Confederation.  Dick also talked about Chelsea losing to Crystal Palace on Saturday, the Arsenal 2-2 draw with Manchester City, the big mid-week matches in Europe and Vancouver hosting Tigres in the CONCACAF Champions League.  Michael also reviewed the US 1-1 draw against Panama, talked about the next 2 US World Cup qualifiers against T&T and Mexico and the Pachuca/FC Dallas CONCACAF Champions League semi-final 2nd leg. Michael Lewis previewed the US/Honduras World Cup qualifying match on Friday and the injury problems the US has for this match. Joe and Andrew discussed the Rhinos 5-1 preseason win over Pittsburgh and gave our thoughts and condolences to Pat Ercoli and his family on the loss of his father Ottavio Ercoli at age 91.

Michael Lewis gave his thoughts on the NY Reb Bulls leading the MLS East, the big 4-0 win by NYCFC over DC United, the home opener of Minnesota United played in a snowstorm and the favorite formations that soccer team have used past and present.  Dick Howard reviewed Chelsea's 1-0 win over Manchester United in the FA Cup and the matchups in the semi-finals at Wembley, Barcelona's amazing comeback against PSG in the UEFA Champions League and previewed this week's Champions League matches and the CONCACAF Champions League semi-finals between Tigres and the Vancouver Whitecaps.  Click on the soccer ball to listen to the podcast!

  • Soccer Sam Fantauzzo, who discussed the possible return of the Rochester Lancers indoor team in 2017-18.  A decision will be made by May 1, 2017.

  • The winner of the 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Honor Award, NSCAA and Section 5 Hall of Famer, former coach of Spencerport High School and Brockport State, Ron Broadbent!  Ron talked about winning the award, how playing soccer in the 1950’s is different than playing today, the rules of high school soccer that allow unlimited substitutions and what he sees as the main need for US Soccer as a playing nation.

  • The new owner of the former Western New York Flash (now the North Carolina Courage) and the NASL's North Carolina FC, Steve Malik.  Steve discussed the timeline and reasons for the sale of the Flash to his club, the status of coaches Paul Riley and Scott Vallow and the players, the plans for the NWSL draft this week and his working with the Sahlen's to make the sale of the team happen smoothly.
  • Rochester Rhinos head coach Bob Lilley, who was in Los Angeles for the USL combines and meetings.  Bob talked about the USL going to Division 2 for 2017, the expanded league schedule, the new teams in the Eastern Conference and the players he is scouting, especially for the attack with the loss of Steevan Dos Santos and Christian Volesky.
